Harare-Old Mutual Zimbabwe Limited has launched its new fintech subsidiary, Old Mutual Digital Services (Private) Limited (OMDS), with a vision to create better everyday lives for its customers.This move comes at a time RBZ launches the first issuance of gold backed digital and tradable currency

OMDS will offer services such as mobile money, digital lending, e-commerce, payment solutions, insurtech and investech to meet the everyday needs of its customers. The subsidiary aims to promote financial inclusion everywhere in Zimbabwe by reducing barriers to access and aligning with evolving market trends.

The fintech business has been founded on Old Mutual Zimbabwe's core value of championing the customer and seeks to innovate for the benefit of its customers. The company is wholly owned by Old Mutual Zimbabwe Limited and is governed by a duly constituted board, chaired by experienced business executive and chartered accountant, Gloria Zvaravanhu.

OMDS Managing Director, Arthur Matsaudza, is supported by a professional and innovative team that is committed to making a positive difference to its customers. Mr. Matsaudza is an expert in digital platforms and was previously the Executive of Digital Platforms Old Mutual Africa Regions and Group Executive for Digital and Data in Zimbabwe.

OMZIL Group CEO Samuel Matsekete has expressed pride in the launch of the fintech business.
